George Hanmer Leycester (born 12 July 1763 in Simpson, Buckinghamshire; died 6 October 1838) was an English amateur cricketer who made 50 known appearances in major cricket matches between 1790 and 1808. Leycester was mainly associated with Surrey but also represented the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), of which he was a prominent early member.〔Arthur Haygarth, ''Scores & Biographies'', Volume 1 (1744-1826), Lillywhite, 1862〕 He was an occasional patron of cricket, his own team appearing in a couple of matches. Leycester played for the Gentlemen in the inaugural and second Gentlemen v Players matches in 1806.〔(CricketArchive – scorecard of inaugural Gentlemen v Players match )〕〔(CricketArchive – scorecard of second Gentlemen v Players match )〕 He was educated at Eton but little is known about Leycester.
